The gemstone onyx is traditionally seen as having inherent healing and protective powers; black onyx absorbs and transforms negative energy, helps to prevent the drain of personal energy, aids the development of emotional and physical strength and stamina, especially when support is needed during times of stress, confusion or grief.

Likewise, ONYX Community Services offers counselling, psychotherapy, and community reintegration programs for those in conflict with the law, family court assistance and advocacy,and we offer assistance with addiction and mental health support services. We also provide Community Service Workers to help with a variety of needs; and when we cannot provide specific assistance, we will work with our community partners to access other programs and services.

Throughout the year we also facilitate group sessions to help attendees dealing with anxiety, grief and loss, depression, money management and life coaching, and we also offer a variety of addiction and 12-step peer-to-peer groups.

We like to think of ourselves as a "one-stop shop " in the community for those who need more than one service at a time. 

All our programs and services have an " Endless Re-Entry" provision; clients can come back as often as they require.

We are a not-for-profit organization and so our prices and or fee for services are very reasonable, and can be tailered to meet your individual needs. We do have a sliding scale, and we also have some services at no charge.

We charge fees in order to cover ongoing Operational Costs such as Rent, Phones, internet, computer equipment, meal programs, etc.

If our fees are still out of your budget, we will explore options that could include reduced fees on a case-by-case basis.

Fee For Services are Subject to HST, when Applicable.

Treatment services and support can help people experiencing harm from substance use or addiction.

Services can include early identification and intervention, harm reduction approaches and relapse prevention. 

Services can also include peer support and specialized treatment. 

Some services are available through public health care while others require private funding.

Understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all treatment option is essential to providing the best possible care. 

Onyx Community Services believes that by matching people with services that fit their needs, they can have a better chance of recovery.

In addition, services and supports should be flexible and tailored to the needs of the individual. 

We promote the message that recovery is positive and achievable. ( based on a case by case basis, Onyx Community Services cannot guarantee actual results ).

At ONYX, we are all deeply unsettled by the ongoing viciousness, destruction and loss of life resulting from this latest eruption of violence in the Middle East. Every compassionate human being recognizes that this level of anger, cruelty and vengeance will never lead to righting of wrongs, however deep and long-standing those may be.  ONYX therefore stands with all people of good will who publicly call out such despicable behaviour, and we seek to do what we can, where we are, to mitigate, the effects.
Our own community includes such a diversity of ethnicity, faith and culture that it is hard to imagine that these events are not affecting you, your families, and your loved ones somehow. The grief, fear, and anger that you may feel in the face of senseless death and destruction happening in so many places across the globe, may be overwhelming. Know that the people of ONYX are available to offer compassion and support. While we are mindful of all those who are suffering directly, we direct our efforts and attention to those in our community whose ability to tend to themselves and their families may be at risk, as they cope with their personal reactions to yet one explosion of cruelty in a world that has seen more than enough of it in these recent years.
There remains much good in the world, although the priorities of the media, both social and professional, would have us believe otherwise. Let us turn to compassion and respect for all, as paths the will ultimately lead us towards peace and justice for all.
